Important news about IPIC2020

Dear Participants,

The 7th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC) will be held on 18-20 November 2020. The organizing committee has been monitoring the developing COVID-19 pandemic (Coronavirus).  The safety and well-being of all conference participants is our priority. After studying and evaluating the announcements, guidance, and news released by relevant national departments, we have made the following adjustments to the conference organization.

1. Conference program

Nov 18:  Opening Ceremony and Plenary Sessions  

Mode: Offline meeting +Online Live broadcast

Time: 8:30-17:00 (Beijing Time)

Venue: Shenzhen University (live broadcast on internet) 

The opening ceremony and Keynote speech will be held in SZU Campus. 10-12 keynote speakers from academic and industry will give keynote speech. The whole day plenary session will be live broadcast on the Internet. (We will confirm the broadcast channel later).

The local keynote speakers will give speech physically. For the overseas keynote speakers who are unable to attend physically, they will give a real-time online presentation (or Pre-recorded video presentation). The overseas keynote speakers will have an online interaction with the live audience in China.

Nov 19-20 ： Parallel Sessions

Mode: Presentation pre-download +Online discussion

Time:  Europe-US session

(3:00 pm -5:00 pm Europe Paris Time)

(9:00 am-11:00 am US Atlanta Time)

China-Europe Session

(4:00 pm -6:00 pm China Beijing Time)

(9:00 am-11:00 am Europe Paris Time)

China-US session

(9:30 pm-11:30 pm China Beijing Time）

(8:30 am-10:30 am US Atlanta Time)

Venue: online meeting (Zoom）

Considering that overseas participants may not be able to attend the meeting physically, we still try our best to provide communication channels for participants from all over the world in different time zones. We will provide “presentation download +online discussion” for parallel session.

1. All speakers in parallel sessions are required to submit his/her prerecorded presentation video or voice-PPT with the paper (please see the guide to create a voice-PPT).
2. All papers and prerecorded presentations will be uploaded to website one weeks BEFORE the start of the conference. Conference participants can download the articles and videos they are interested in and read them in advance.
3. On conference the day (Nov 19-20), we will setup parallel online sessions by Zoom. (The time zone problem will be considered). The online session will be used for communication and discussion ONLY, and NO live presentation will be arranged. The authors in the session will chair the online meeting room and organize the discussion. Participants can choose online rooms to join the discussion according to the articles they read in advance and the subjects they are interested in.

2. Conference Fee

Day 1 Plenary Sessions (Offline + Online)

Offline Participant: 255 USD / 1800 RMB

(Attend the opening ceremony, Keynote Sessions and Gala dinner in Shenzhen University)

Online Audience: FREE

 (Watch the broadcast online)

Day 2- Day 3 Parallel Sessions (Online)

Parallel online session speaker: 50 USD / 350 RMB

(Paper and presentation video will be upload to conference website, paper will be published in conference proceeding)

Parallel online session audience: FREE

(Free to download the conference paper and join the online discussion)

3. Important Day

In the context of uncertain global epidemics and dramatic changes of global supply chain, we believe that PI will play a more important role. Thank you very much for your active support and participation.
